CcaM researcher, Dr. Sindy Sumter, presented new research findings at the conference “Cyberbullying: A challenge for researchers and practitioners” on May 11th in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The aim of the conference was to help address the challenges that researchers and practitioners face when it comes to understanding and preventing cyberbullying – a form of bullying that takes place on the internet and through a variety of electronic devices.

In her poster presentation (titled “Does online peer victimization make teen victims even more sick and unhappy?”), Dr. Sumter presented new findings on the consequences of cyberbullying for teenagers today, including physical symptoms.   This work is co-authored by CcaM researchers Dr. Susanne Baumgartner and Professor Patti Valkenburg.
