Jessica Taylor Piotrowski, director of CcaM, has been elected the Vice Chair / Chair Elect of the Children, Adolescents, and the Media (CAM) division of the International Communication Association (ICA).
The Vice Chair /Chair Elect position is a four year term, consisting of two years as Vice Chair / Chair Elect followed by two years as Chair. Responsibilities include leadership of the Awards Committee during the first year, serving as Program Planner during the second year of vice chair and first year of chair, and serving as a Member of the Board of the International Communication Association.
ICA is an international academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication. Within ICA, the CAM division represents the group of scholars who study the role of media in the lives of children and young people. CAM aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas among scholars of different backgrounds and disciplinary orientations, informed by a variety of theoretical and empirical approaches. The division has approximately 300 members, of which 50% are US scholars and 50% come from countries all over the world.
