Esther Rozendaal (Ph.D., 2011) is working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, ASCoR, University of Amsterdam. As a postdoctoral researcher she is part of Moniek Buijzen’s NWO Vidi project on children and adolescents’ commercialized media environment. Rozendaal investigates whether and how children's advertising literacy can reduce their susceptibility to advertising effects. Her work has been recognized with an award from the National Communication Association (NCA). Besides her postdoctoral research project, she also acts as a scientific consultant about different aspects of children’s consumer behavior, for example for Stichting Media Rakkers and Mediaopvoeding.nl.
