On April 2 2009, Marjolijn Antheunis succesfully defended her PhD thesis. The dissertation consisted of 4 peer-reviewed articles on the effects of online communication on interpersonal attraction and friendship formation. The defense committee was impressed by the clear writing style and the originality of the thesis.
