This September, CcaM was joined by three new researchers. Francette Broekman and Sophie Waterloo join us as new PhD students while Laura Vandenbosch joins us as a new postdoctoral researcher.
Francette Broekman, a graduate of the Youth & Media MA program at the Graduate School of Communication, will be working on the PhD project “There’s an App for That!” with Dr. Jessica Piotrowski, Professor Hans Beentjes, and Professor Patti Valkenburg. Through this project, she will be investigating how and why children’s apps can support young children’s development.
Sophie Waterloo, a graduate of the Research Master program at the Graduate School of Communication, will be working on the PhD project “Expression Effects” with Professor Jochen Peter, Professor Patti Valkenburg, and Dr. Susanne Baumgartner. In this project, Sophie will be researching the effects of online self-presentation on identity.
Finally, Dr. Laura Vandenbosch joins us as a postdoctoral researcher from the Leuven School for Mass Communication Research in Belgium. Laura will be working with Professor Jochen Peter on his VIDI-funded project where she will be researching the impact of sexual media content on adolescent sexuality.
CcaM is happy to welcome these new researchers to our team!
