Coping Strategies to Reduce Fear from TV

Description

21-item scale that measures four types of coping strategies to reduce fear from TV: physical intervention, cognitive reassurance, social support, and escape. Cronbach’s alphas were .71 for the physical-intervention scale, .70 for the cognitive-reassurance scale, .66 for the social-support scale, and .68 for the escape scale.

Omschrijving

Een uit 21 stellingen bestaand onderzoeksinstrument dat vier soorten geruststellingsstrategieën meet die kinderen toepassen om televisieveroorzaakte angst te verminderen: fysieke interventie, cognitieve geruststelling, sociale steun, en escape. De Cronbach’s alfa’s waren .71 voor de fysieke interventie meting, .70 voor de cognitieve geruststelling meting, .66 voor de sociale steun meting, en .68 voor de escape meting.
